Activities & Events in the Area

Slow down and discover the farmlands of Butler County and discover the hidden jewel of Historic Saxonburg. Escape from the hectic pace of life and enjoy a weekend getaway that makes you feel at home. Just over 30 minutes north of the Golden Triangle, this area seems to stand still. The Main Street of Saxonburg stands as the the main gathering place for friends. The church continues to stand at the end of Main street and its clock tower chimes on the quarter hour. You can also hear the roosters crow at dawn.

Welcome to Saxonburg, one of America's greatest small Victorian era towns where small businesses, quaint shops, restaurants and family homes co-exist in a tranquil village surrounded by farmland. Today, Main Street retains much of its original character and features 32 buildings that are over 100 years old, of which 10 buildings are more than 150 years. The Main Street is now a designated federal historic district. After a full fresh country breakfast at Armstrong Farms (and we really mean fresh brown eggs and Thoma's Saxonburg famous cured ham) overlooking the Westminster Preserve pond site travel to the village of Saxonburg to begin another adventure.
